Still from “Time is Passing” video
Time is Passing (الوقت يمضي) is a meditation on self-realization, time, and the dimensions that shape our experience. Humanity’s essence feels anchored somewhere in time, a concept that reveals itself as we move through life, continually negotiating our presence within its flow. Time is a continuum, yet our grasp of it is in constant flux; the past, present, and future intertwine, each moment both emerging from and leading into the next, eternally progressing. This motion is inseparable from our human consciousness, shaping our ability to perceive the world and, ultimately, our understanding of self.
In Time is Passing, I explore how our identity is inextricably bound to time, not as a static sequence but as a loop that connects memories, present experiences, and anticipations for the future. This cyclical perception, however, remains deeply subjective. For some, time rushes forward, while for others, it lingers or even seems suspended. In this work, I aim to express my own understanding of time—a view that reflects my perception of its fluidity, its capacity to mold and reshape our lives, and its role as the unseen thread that connects every fragment of our existence. Through this exploration, I seek to invite viewers to contemplate their own relationship with time, encouraging a deeper awareness of how it shapes not just our experiences but our very selves.
