In the Womb of Darkness, 2024
Acrylic and ink on cloth, 80 x50 cm

In this work I use the mirror of resilience and vulnerability of the human experience, embodying the deep scars left by separation and loss, while also offering moments of transformation and connection in their fractured forms. I investigate themes of displacement, borders and belonging.

Series of work on wood, paper, fabric, metal, canvas, tape, papier mache, ink, charcoal, acrylic.

In this body of work, the viewer engages with the layers of experience that shape our understanding of home and identity, reflecting the interplay of light and darkness. Each piece evokes empathy, prompting reflection on the shared humanity that persists even in adversity. By embodying vulnerability, the work illuminates the path to discover spaces that forge bonds to transcend the fractures of life.

"Speaking To The Light, As If I Can," signifies a dialogue between light and darkness, where moments of clarity emerge from experiences of separation and loss. It is thus a contemplation of belonging, emphasizing that even in the shadows, light exists as a source of hope and transformation.
